Your new collaborative text editor — simple, efficient, and works even offline.

Complete all the steps below to get comfortable with the tool 🎓

1. ✂️ Select all the content, copy it, and paste it into a new document so you can edit it.
2. ✅ Check off each item once you’ve tried it.

👶 Let’s start with the basics

• To start writing, just click anywhere on the page.
• To format text, select it and use the toolbar

• The page is structured in blocks — you can move them by clicking the ⣿ icon and dragging.

a) You can add a background color to a block by clicking ⣿

b) You can indent blocks by dragging or using Tab.

• To display the list of available blocks, type /

• To insert a block, click on a block type in the list.
• You can search for a block by typing its name, e.g. "Heading 2".
• When you select text inside a block, you can change its type.

🔗 Share your documents with a simple link

Click Share and choose between Authenticated or Public access.

Choose between Read only or Can read and edit.

Share the link with colleagues in an email thread without having to invite them one by one 🚀

⬇️ Export your documents as PDF or .docx

Click the ⋮ menu in the top right, then Export.

⌨️ Docs is packed with handy shortcuts

Classic formatting shortcuts are available:

• Ctrl or Cmd + B for bold
• Ctrl or Cmd + I for italic
• Ctrl or Cmd + Z to undo
• Ctrl or Cmd + Shift + Z to redo
• Indent with Tab
• Unindent with Shift + Tab
• Move a block up or down with Ctrl or Cmd + ⬆️ / ⬇️

Docs ❤️ Markdown — here’s what’s supported:

• Code: ``` your code ```<language>
• Headings: # ## ###
• Lists: - * or +
• Numbered lists: 1.
• Task lists: [ ] or [x]
• Inline formatting:
• • italic: _text_ or +text+
  • bold: **text** or __text__
  • code: text
  • Insert images, PDFs, and videos by dragging and dropping into the text area

✨ Get help from the AI

Select text and click ✨ in the toolbar — you can ask the AI to:

• Use the selected text as a prompt (e.g., “write a 5-line poem”)
• Rephrase the selected text
• Correct the selected text
• Summarize the selected text
• Translate the selected text

ℹ️ When you select a lot of text or submit a prompt that will generate multiple lines, the response may take a little time — the AI will insert it in place of your selection.
